All the information contained in this web page may be copied for use by parents, teachers, or any person interested in techniques to assist a child struggling to learn. These activities are meant to supplement the education your child is receiving. These should not be used in place of teacher assignments or recommendations.
Not all activities listed are appropriate for every child. Some are for a specific learning difficulty, age, or subject. If you would like assistance in choosing an activity for your child please contact me.Talk to your child's teacher about the specific problem your child is experiencing. Try to get details and examples of the problem. Knowing the exact problem can aid in assisting your child to improve academically. For example: Reading difficulties can be a result of a poor sight word vocabulary, lack of comprehension, poor pronunciation, letter reversing, etc. Your child's teacher will need to give you specific information concerning your child's reading difficulty.
Each activity should be adapted to fit the child's interest. If you are assisting a child to expand their sight word vocabulary, allow him or her to choose the words. You can assist them in choosing words related to a hobby or special activity. Learning will be faster and more fun if children are involved in their own learning.
If you need any assistance or have a question concerning any aspect of your child's education or assisting your child's learning endeavor please contact me.

A Special Note Concerning the Following Activities
These activities are from the many books, teachers, colleagues and friends I have known over the years. I wrote down these ideas in a notebook that I would look through at various times when I was in need of a resource to assist a student. Most of the activities have been modified to suit the needs of the students I worked with and rarely reflected the original idea. If you come a cross a source for these from a legitimate book or guide, please let me know and I will give that book credit. I will not accredit these ideas to any certain person, since some of these ideas came from teachers who have long since retired and were sharing information given to them from others during the time they attended school and taught for many years. Of course, some of the activities are those that parents have always been doing with their children with a few tips.
